Sunday Brunch. We ordered Margaritas on the rocks...first rate. Complimentary freshly made chips & salsa. Fish tacos & Chicken Mole were delicious. Finished with Churros w/vanilla ice & chocolate sauce...Yum!

Native Houstonian here. Javelina is the closest I've found to Tex-Mex fajitas in Manhattan. While there's no comparison to Ninfa's, Pappasitos, El Tiempo, or Chuy's, every other Tex-Mex place I've tried in NYC has been more or less inedible (Mamasitas, for instance, decided it was appropriate to forego the normal peppers/onions for broccoli in carrots, an offense that should get you carried out on a rail by any self-respecting fajita lover). But back to Javelina: Pros: - there were free chips/salsa (I can't believe I have to say this, but I've noticed a trend in nyc to charge for chips/salsa) - the margaritas were strong (actually too strong for me, but I know that's a plus for many) - the white queso with chorizo was quite good (not quite a queso flameado, but good) - the fajitas were sizzling, the meat was tender, and all the sides were good (especially the jalapeño rice) - the decor was very Texas-themed (from the name javelina to the shiner ads along the wall) Cons: - the only negative note was the drinks service: our drinks didn't come until well after our food was served

Service here was very quick! I tried the chicken taquitos appetizer, but it filled me up. I don't know exactly what was in them but the flavor was good! If you're looking for a Tex-Mex spot in the city, this is not a bad place to start!

Tried Javelina twice this week- really good Mexican food in Manhattan! Tastes as good as the west coast street tacos! My favorite is the brisket tacos ( soft and juicy with lots of flavor). The Al pastor tacos were tasty too but I love the brisket tacos! Also enjoyed the tortilla soup, Queso was addicting too. Forgot to take pics but definitely give it a try!

We were graciously invited back personally by the owner, Matt. All of our concerns were addressed and fixed! The manager on duty, Theresa, was amazing and made sure we were seated promptly. Our server, Eric, took amazing care of us the entire time! There is also a new White queso with brisket on the menu that we got to try. It was Excellent and might be a new favorite, besides the classic Bob Armstrong of course. Our margaritas and fajitas were a 10/10 as usual! Thank you, Javelina for caring about your guests and being an amazing restaurant! There has been a Texas sized hole in my heart since I left the last review. I am happy to say that we will be back to eat again soon. (-:

I come here all the time, happy hour, dinner, brunch whatever. It's always a good time, I was a there yesterday and Jessica (bartender) I hope I got the name correct, she was great, super kind and just a pleasure. We moved outside because it was just so cold inside and we got dulce as our server. Not sure if she was having a bad day or just hated us but she wasn't that nice lol, I asked if she was okay and she said yes but her energy/attitude towards us said otherwise. Aside from that mishap with our server, food was great as usual and the drinks were perfect. Will obviously be back, javelina has theeee best queso around.
